Introduction
It is regarded that motion pictures are a mirror to society in their depiction of values, customs and norms. Some of these motion pictures aspire to take on the more prevalent issues surrounding society such as stigma of the individual, class struggle and more vogue political topics . In 2008, the motion picture Slumdog Millionaire was released to audiences globally. It was directed by English film maker Daniel Boyle. On close inspection, this movie offers insight into the cultural aspects regarding individual characteristics of groups of people on a global scale. Originally a novel by Vikas Swarup, the screenplay was written by Simon Beaufoy (“Full cast and crew for Slumdog Millionaire (2008)”, n.d.).
