FSCN 302 Case Study / Concepts of Emergency Management
University of Maryland University College
Abstract
September 2004, the Watsonville Fire Department had established a strategic plan that would augment its departments to further its operations. The population of Watsonville was rapidly gaining more citizens as the town further expanded throughout the years. This increase had a clear impact on the call volume to the fire department. As resources were continually stretched thin Fire Chief Ben Evans developed a strategy that set the precedence for the department’s growth and future for the city and the community.
